Seventy points were all that was needed for Red Bull Racing Esports driver, Sebastian Job, to clinch the Porsche Esports Supercup in the team’s debut season in the inaugural Porsche Esports Supercup Season. Jacob Tofts spoke to Sebastian Job, Patrik Holzmann and Graham Carroll earlier this week about the upcoming season.
Q: Have you changed the way you prepare for races as a team for this season?
A: Yes, we’ve completely changed everything about how we prepare for races. Now our preparation is a lot more thorough, and so far results have been promising.
Q: Has your new rig improved your driving in any way?
A: Straight away I felt an improvement and my teammates have noticed an improvement as well. I’m hoping once I get my direct drive wheel it will help me find even more lap time.
Q: What are the teams and your aims for this season?
A: I think the team and I have the same aim, to win the world championship. Anything else will be considered a failure I think, that’s a clear aim.
Q: Who do you think will be your biggest rival this season?
A: I don’t have one specific person I consider as a main rival. The most important thing is to focus on maximizing my own performances and score as many points as possible.
Q: What race are you most looking forward too and why?
A: Has to be Brands Hatch as I’ve raced there a few times in Formula Ford 1600.
Q: What was the best change you made over the winter in preparation for the season?
A: A new approach by everyone in the team on how we go about testing and setting up the car, it’s working well so far.
Q: If you could make one change to the series before the season starts, what would it be?
A: To turn the Porsche 911 cup car into a formula car, I’m not a big GT car fan at all!
Job won the pre-season test race last weekend, over three seconds ahead of reigning champion Josh Rogers. Holzmann and Carrol finished 13th and 33rd respectively, Carrol 14 laps behind teammate Job, after a crash.
More of these team previews will be following, keep an eye out for them!
