After their best week in a world championship for a long time, Apex Racing Team weren’t able to carry the momentum to the other road world championship on iRacing, the VRS GT World Championship at the Nurburgring this weekend.

Their highest finishing car in yesterdays round was 29th place, a lap down, that was with Porsche Esports Supercup sprint race winner Kevin Ellis Jr and Antoine Higelin at the wheel.

The sister Apex Racing Team car, driven by Michele Ricci and Michele Costantini had an even worse race finishing in 38th place.

The team have been having one of their best seasons yet in the GT World Championship, with a sixth-place being their best result so far in 2019. After the merger with ERT this year, the results have been getting better and better, this showed in PESC last week, but this week wasn’t their week.

After the race yesterday, team manager, Alex Simpson said, “Definitely, the guys focus is on the Porsche. That would not have helped, but I also think we missed something in the set here. A couple of tenths and we would have been in good shape for the race. Just the way it goes some times. We will bounce back for Sebring”

The two Apex Racing Team BMW M8s are still sitting in 14th and 26th with two rounds left in the championship.
